Cafe Success
Wow! What a day. Children were arriving from 8.15am to organise their products and begin cooking, ready to open our cafe from 10.20am. It proved really popular and it was lucky that some teams decided to make extra. There are only a few photos as we were so busy making things, we didn't have time to take many. Have a look at each team's page for photos of the day and their reflection.

Cafe date pencilled in
We have set a date and started planning backwards from there. Our very organised Genreal Manager, Hamilton, has collated all the teams' plans to decide when we need to book the science and technology room, and what groups need to make things in advance.
Most groups have their posters created and a menu finalised. Some are trying to make a jingle but are finding their own challenges with using new technology. We are trying to use Garageband on the iPad to make some of them.
Some groups are writing persuasive letters to local businesses to request donations of products, such as wide straws to put the chocolate sherbet in as normal sized straws are too narrow. What a great writing opportunity!
We'll let you know when we finalse a date.

Taste tests are underway!
WOW. A couple of groups have already managed to meet and test some of their recipe ideas. Today Alison, Eres and Vedang brought samples of their products to trial and get some feedback on for their next trial. You can see a video of some of the feedback on their team page 'Sweet Pies'.
Sarah, Emily and Codie trialled their jelly ideas, and came up with a great idea of scooping out the pulp of an orange to use in the jelly, then putting the jelly into the orange skin. Can't wait to see one. One jelly involves sherbet, so can't wait to see how that turns out!
Stay tuned for more exciting developments.

Welcome to our Class Cafe
Our class cafe does not have an official name yet, but it will. See below for the design brief and the job vacancy for General Manager. So far there are two applicants. Letters need to be to me by Tuesday 23rd October.
Keep checking here regularly for how we are going. If you would like to come and help one day, please let me know. We will probably do it one afternoon during swim fortnight later in the term.
